E-Women's Conference

Jeremy Camp!!!

This weekend was AWESOME!!!  I had so much fun in Tupelo (it really makes me want to move back) and I already have my ticket for next years conference.  It's going to be in Southhaven next year and I am glad it will be closer to our house but am going to miss the chance to get to Tupelo.

We had great speakers and excellant performers!  Friday night we just made it in time for the conference around 7:00 and we got to our hotel around 10:45 p.m.  Aunt Ginger called me around 6 am Saturday morning and I rushed to get ready and make it to the convention center so we could get good seats.  It was a little chilly but so worth it!! We got great seats just off the floor close to the stage.  I won't post all of the 100+ photos but I wanted to have some to remember it :)

Me, Mama, Ginger, Jessica, Stacy, Christy, Deb, and Ginger (another Ginger) had a blast and I know we all came home with something from the weekend.  Just realized that out of 8 people we had 2 Gingers and 2 Debbies...

Michael O'Brian was the main source of our musical entertainment and he was awesome!!  My favorite song he did was the Lord's Prayer.  I've heard the Lord's prayer put to music before but never like this. It was awesome and I am going to get his cd one day just so I can hear it all the time.

We also were blessed to hear Jeremy Camp!!! He is an amazing artist and has such a powerful testimony.  His 1st wife was diagnosed with cancer at 22 and she died 4 months after the returned from their honeymoon. That was pretty much what impressed me about all of our speakers and performers.  Each person had experienced some type of tragdity or struggle and they were all able to overcome it and use their expericnce to help others.

I have 3 favorite speakers from the weekend.  The first one is Lysa TerKeurst you may recognize her name from Proverbs 31 Ministries and if you ever listen to AFR.  I love her books and her radio talks but I never knew her testimony and where she came from.  She and her husband have five children (2 were recently adopted from a refugee camp somewhere in South America).  She was probably one of the most down to earth and real of all the women I got to hear.

Of course my 2nd favorite was Sarah Palin!! She spoke for over and hour and it was awesome!! We need more women like her in our schools, churches, and government.

My 3rd favorite speaker will have to wait for another day. Of all the things I took away from the weekend I believe her's will impact me and my family forever.

was the only shot I could get of her blue suede shoes :)

Meredith Andrews!!!

Me (& my double chin) and Stacy and Jessica
See the family resemblance much?

After the conference we went to Madison Street to pick up Alice Virginia.  She took us to this really neat little Italian resturaunt downtown called Nautical Whimsey.  The food was excellant but the company was even better!  I can't wait til my next trip to Tupelo even if it is only for a visit....
