Stars and Stripes Festival 2011

Yesterday was the First Annual Stars and Stripes Festival and Boat Parade.  Marvin had to work so the kids and I headed out there early.  We got there at 6:00 and the boat parade was at 7:30 and by 7:45 Neil was screaming his head off so we headed home.  Hopefully next year Marvin will be off and we can actually stay for the fireworks!  Camden enjoyed the boats and got to play with a friend and eat some watermelon so it wasn't all bad. They had a gun salute after the flag ceremony and I was really suprised that not one of them even flenched.  Some of the kids there took off running and really got upset, I did tell Camden it was going to be loud before hand so maybe that helped.  Neil tends to feed off of Camden so when she seemed ok with the noise I guess he figured it was nothing to worry about.
Tomorrow we are headed to Grenada for my family's 4th of July get-together and at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday the Sheffields are headed for the BEACH!!!
Got a couple of pictures posted below from the festival yesterday....

This was the flag ceremony and you can't see his face but that's Bro. Jim on the stage.

Uncle Sam was freakishly tall and the kids were kind of leary of him.
