Fire Station Field Trip!

Today Camden’s class went on a tour of the fire department a block from her school.  The firemen were really nice and interacted well with the kids.  Neil of course didn’t like not being able to run free so I left a little early with him.
I did get a chance to snap a few pictures and got to watch Camden be called as a volunteer for one of their hands on demonstrations.  She was really impressed with the fireman who came down the pole as well.   She told me later tonight that she got to climb onto the truck and the nice man helped her down.  I am so glad she had such a good time!!!

Trying to get a class picture is hard

The entire school went 2 yr old - 4 yr olds.

This was one of her highlights

She got selected to hold the walkie talkie

Both guys were great with the kids!

After school we met my friend Lisa and her little boy Easton for lunch and then back to our house for some outdoor playtime before naps.  Lisa brought tons of clothes for Neil and the cutest Halloween buckets for the kids!!!

Seussical

On Thursday the kids and I went to Delta State for a Seussical play at the BPAC.
Lindsey and her kids were not able to make it this year so it was just me and the kids.  Neil made it a little past the first hour then we had to leave.  Camden was content to look at all of the outdoor art at the facility until Neil calmed down.  Camden enjoyed the play, espcially the Cat in The Hat.  She wan't as familiar with Horton Hears a Who but she never took her eyes off the performance.
I really wanted to eat somewhere good since I’m never in Cleveland so I chanced a visit to A La’ Carte.   The kids were perfect and we had a nice peaceful lunch and a great trip back home.  The only down side is I never got to get a single picture from the day.

Big Girl Bed!

Yesterday Stacy came over with my twin bed and mattress set that had been at Mama's house.  She also brought Lily and supper! The kids had fun playing together then we bathed them and Stacy and Lily headed back home. Camden is now sleeping in a big bed!  I don't have a picture of it yet for two reasons....first I haven't completely decided if we are going to keep it in the same place and second I haven't finished (or even started on for that matter) her quilt.  I didn't want to give up her curtains or change room color or her throw rug so I bought material that would coordinate with what she already has.  I should be caught up with all of my sewing orders by the middle of next week so I can hopefully get started then.  Any quilting advice would be greatly appreciated since this is my first attempt at one!

Neil has been battling some type of sinus infection/ear infection/cold and on top of all of that I found 3 new teeth poking through today.  Needless to say he has not been a happy camper lately.  Camden went to school this morning and Neil spent the entire morning under me crying.  I tried Tylenol for pain, massaging his gums, holding him, rocking him, and just about anything else I thought would help to no avail.  I am really praying tomorrow is better for him and that I don't get a call from his school!

Thursday is our first play of the season and I can't wait!

This week is Fire Safety Week at FPK and Camden's class is taking a field trip to the fire station one block from the school.  I know she will have a blast but I haven't decided if I am going to meet them up there or not.  It just depends on the kind of day we have with Neil.  Either way she will have fun and I am so glad our children have a place like this to attend!

Cotton Pickin!

Last week the kids school learned about local crops.  Camden has come home every day with some type of paper activity on different kinds of crops grown in the delta.  I was excited about getting to take both of them on

Busy Weekend

Friday Mama came to get Camden so she could spend the night and go to work with her at the bookstore on Saturday.  Neil decided I was boring so Saturday morning we headed to Granny's and picked her up for some shopping and lunch in Grenada.  Neil had a blast with her and I am so glad we got to spend the day together.  We made a quick stop at the bookstore to see how Camden was doing and when she saw me she immediately sat down on the floor and started saying "I'm not ready to go home Mama!".  So we left her there and went to eat lunch and shop a little.  After Neil fell asleep in the car we took her back home then went to Mama's to wait for her to get off work.

We visited with Nana and Pop-Pop and then headed home to see Marvin. Sunday was a blur, church, lunch, then a visitation for a friend's mom in Indianola, supper and finally bedtime.

Monday and Tuesday was spent trying to catch up on laundry and housework.  The kids school is going on a field trip to a cotton patch on Friday and I'm going too!  Hopefully I can get a couple of pictures...

Below are a couple of picures from the weekend.
Mama got the kids a pumpkin and they had fun putting stickers on them.

Camden has been begging me to make her some polka-dot pants so I finally did.  This is her informing me she does not want to smile for the camera even though she likes her new outfit...

On a more sober note Marvin's sister Denise had a seizure around 4 am and is in the hospital here in Greenwood.  We are all concerned because she has never had one before.  Praying the doctors here are able to find out why and that she never has to go through this again.

Gramma and Granddaddy came to see her and stopped by to visit the kids after they left the hospital.  Neil was unusually cranky and I thought it may just be he needed a nap but after he woke up he was running a fever so off we went to the after-hours clinic.  He has a cold and possibly an ear infection.  We are on antiboitics and he should be better in a couple of days.  The bad thing is they are supposed to take school pictures tomorrow so it looks like Neil will miss them :(  They are going to do another picture of all the kids at the end of the school year so hopefully we won't have to miss that one.

God has answered yet another prayer!  I was able to get another house to clean and I am sooo excited!!! We serve an awesome God who works things out in His timing and as long as I am on this earth I know that His way is always best!

Fall is Here!!!

I am so excited that today is the first official day of fall which means this weekend I can pull out all of the fall decorations!  It also means slightly cooler weather and pumpkins!  I was rummaging through some of my pretty ratty fall decortions and the saddest one of all was our wreath for the door.  My friend Celia showed me a pumpkin door hanger that she made from burlap and it was so cute and soo affordable that I decided to tackle it.  Mine isn't nearly a cute as hers but it's a great improvement from the old faded wreath.  Now all I need is to convince my wonderful husband to fix a wire for it so I can hang it on our front door.

HAPPY FALL!!
