It's the little things in a marriage that add up and keep you smiling. After 7 years my blow-dryer died but not before giving me a fairly good electrical shock. So it went into the trash and it happened on the night Marvin was doing the grocery shopping. I really wanted to pick one out myself but we really needed one especially now that Camden has a headfull too so when he offered to get one I agreed. I was so impressed with what he came back with I had to take a picture of it!!
I will be styling in style :) Yes I know I am a nerd!

Valentine's Day
Even the smallest holidays are wonderful when you have young children. The kids had a fun filled Valentine's week!! They were given so much you would think it was Christmas.
The day before Valentines Day we made cupcakes for their class parties at school. After their nap I let them decorate one and eat it for a snack. Camden loved chosing all of the different toppings for her cupcake, Neil on the other hand decided to go straight for the icing. Once he finished off the icing then he ate the sprinkles, then last of all the actual cupcake.
I love this little mess!

She is so focused!
Valentine's morning we all got up a little early so we could give the kids their Valentines. Then they got dressed and headed to preschool. I had a house to clean then I headed over to the school to watch the remainder of their party. I love being apart of their activities at school, especially since they still like having me around :) Stacy came and graciously offered to keep the kids so Marvin and I could go on a date. It was nice to have a meal prepared and served to us without having to feed anyone or do the dishes.
These two have my heart!

Sewing Update
One of the changes I'm making this year is to only sew for my kids. Towards the end of the year last year I was so busy sewing and altering clothes for everyone else I never had time to make anything for my kids. So now I'm just going to do it for my little rug rats while they are still young enough for me to. They are having a Valentines party at school on Tuesday and I made them some festive shirts. I am getting excited about sewing again for our family.

From Surviving to Thriving :)
The past few years have been about surviving at the Sheffield residence (especially for me) but this year is off to a wonderful start and I really feel that we are in the "thriving mode". I know that sounds weird but I really am excited about a lot of new changes that will be happening in 2012! For those who really know me understand that I usually don't like change at all.
I haven't been able to blog lately and it's beginning to nag at my inner psyche so I am going to attempt to catch up and get back into a routine.
The kids are awesome and I am so fortunate to me their mom! They both love school and the church nursery now and that makes my heart so happy. They fight over anything and everything and I try not to end up in the middle unless I fear bloodshed.
After losing a few pounds here and there and then gaining all of them back I finally talked my husband into letting me try AdvoCare. I am on what they call the 24 Day Challenge and I have lost 8 lbs and 7 1/2 inches!!! The inches are what really matter because I am a whole size smaller than I was when I started. I have felt like a teenager again and Marvin noticed the change so quickly that he decided to get on it too. Of course he is doing great and has already lost double what I have!! Since both of us are taking the products I decided to start selling it too. (like I needed another job :)) I know it's not for everyone but if you want to try it give me a call!
It really is awesome to have such a supportive husband and he has been just that! And this week will start my new year of regular and consistant blogging. It will be easier now that my wonderful husband drilled a hole in the back of our desk allowing us to lower the monitor. I was getting neck pains from looking up so far!
We took the kids to Jackson a couple of Saturdays ago to eat at The Cock of The Walk and to the Children's Museum. It's kind of become a tradition to take them to the zoo in the fall and the museum before Marvin gets busy planting. They loved the ducks and had a great time at the museum.

Claire Allyn Melton
On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 12:12 we welcomed the newest member of the family! Claire Allyn Melton was born weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and she was 19 inches long and she had the brightest eyes I've ever seen on a newborn and a head full of jet black hair just like her big sister Lily.

Christmas Day 2011
This years Christmas was wonderful!!! The kids got up and we all raced to the dining room to see what Santa left. I don't have a lot of pictures from the morning of because I was busy filming everything with the video camera. After presents we had breakfast then got ready for church. It was great being able to celebrate the birth of our Savior in God's house and then we came home and fixed lunch for the grandparents. Both sets came to see what the kids got for Christmas and we had a great time visiting with everyone. Especially since we didn't have to leave the house!
