Camden's New Room (before and after)
The house is finally starting to get in order, although not as quickly as I would like. It is feeling more like home in some of the rooms (thanks to Stacy!!). Camden's room still isn't finished on one wall but I wanted to show off all of the progress we (being Stacy) have made. Camden looks like a wild child in the picture because she had just got up from her nap and was sporting the Tina Turner hair, and maybe because she knew she wasn't supposed to be standing on her bed :)

6 Years, Baby Beds, and New House
WOW!! We finally have internet access as well as a tiny path through the boxes to the computer. I wanted to blog our progress of moving but after the second day I realized that would be impossible. These past two weeks have been a blur and I can't begin to recap all of our progress. We could not have done any of it without the help of our family and friends and we are very appreciative of all the sweat, blood, and tears that went in to getting us moved and settled.
When we moved we decided to put Camden in her new toddler bed from the start and she has done wonderfully. She did fall out the first few nights but was back in the bed by the time I rounded the corner to her room. I am so glad we are able to put her to bed with ease. Neil on the other hand has decided that it would be nice to start getting up 4 or 5 times a night. I thought we were keeping him up (since we have been staying up a lot later than usual trying to make a dent in the boxes) so I set up his crib and we tried that last night. However that didn't help either, I am hoping he is just going through a growth spurt and will settle back into one middle of the night feeding.
Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary!! I can't believe it has been six years already. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful, supportive husband and I could not dream of a better father to our kids.
Nana came today while Marvin was at work and brought the new shower curtains she sewed for us and kept the children busy so I could get some stuff done. Then she worked on the blinds we have put up fitting them to the windows and helped me fold a ton of clothes. After she left Gramma and Granddaddy came to watch the kids while Marvin and I went out to eat for our anniversary/Mother's Day/Father's Day meal. We were going to branch out and leave town then decided at the last minute to stay close so we ate at Delta Bistro. I was concerned about leaving Neil for too long since he gets fussy in the afternoons and isn't taking a bottle that great right now. We enjoyed our meal together and ironically had a lot to talk about and believe it or not we didn't even bring up the kids!
The cats are adjusting just fine and although they went into hiding for the first couple of days they have clearly made theirselves "at home" in the new house and are doing great. The dogs are having a little harder time adjusting to being fenced in all the time but so far we have only had one night of barking.
As soon as we get all the doors on the kitchen cabinets I can start posting before and after pictures. The kitchen and breakfast area are the closest areas to being finished. I really hope to be completly decorated and rid of boxes by August 1st because that's when my ironing business will start back up! Wish me luck and pray that Marvin holds up through all of my honey-do's until we get everything in place.

Our Home Day 1
Today has been long to say the least...
It started at 6:15 as usual, only I had to get both kids fed and dressed so we could meet the painters at the new house at 8:30. We stayed at the house unloading paint cans and getting a good feel of the layout all morning. Allen stopped by to check out the house and Marvin's new shop. Camden enjoyed his company and showing him around the back yard. Then we went home for lunch and I put the kids down for their nap. After naptime was over we loaded back up and met Nana at the house to watch her take down the wall paper in the master bathroom. She is a pro and by 7:00 she was finished!! Stacy showed up about that time with pizza for supper, we were all famished. Amanda and Lola stopped by around 5:00 to see the material for the shower curtains in both bathrooms. Amanda picked out the material online after seeing the colored tile in the bathrooms for all of 2 minutes and it looks perfect! I couldn't have picked out material that would coordinate that well if I had the tile with me in a fabric store. Mama is taking the material back with her to sew them for me. Marvin is still at the house right now trying to pull up all of the black and white linoleum in the kitchen and laundry room. We have also determined that the wall paper on the ceiling of the guest bathroom will not come off without bringing down the ceiling with it. And yes I did say wall paper on the ceiling! I am going to talk to the painters in the morning and hopefully we can cover it with lots of primer and just paint over it. Lots to do before we start moving in and I will try to keep track of our progress. Gonna also try to remember to take pictures of the outside of the house tomorrow so I can post them. But for now all I have is a picture of my lovely children who look almost like twins! I never realized how much they look like each other until I took a picture of them together. Too bad they aren't smiling, they are busy giving me their "Marvin" look.

New Home!
After spending the afternoon running back and forth from the bank to the law office, we are officially homeowners! So thankful Nana came to watch the kids while we took care of all of this. Banks and law offices definitely aren't the place for children, especially loud ones like ours. We can't wait to get in and start painting, however the sellers won't be out until the end of June. We take possession of the house on July 1st and then the chaos begins, well, really it just kicks into high gear. Below is a picture of our new home. It is not that great since I just stole it from a real estate website but will do until we get in it. Once we get the keys I'm going to try and take lots of pictures of the before so everyone can track our progress. I feel like a weight has been lifted, and we now have a place to call our own. I hope the children and animals adjust easily once we move, I really don't want to be at a house with 4 animals and 2 babies that aren't happy campers. I feel confident that the cats will do just fine, they have survived all of our moves in the past. And Neil is really too young to be affected too much by all of this, so really if Camden and the dogs are OK then we should be just fine.

Old Friends
Today Camden, Neil, and I loaded up and went to Indianola. We went to Indywood (an assisted living facility) where my oldest and dearest friend lives. I feel bad because this was her first meeting with Neil, but now that I know how easy the trip was we will definitely make it once a month. Mrs. Pinion loved visiting with the kids and Camden loved rearranging all of her nick-knacks and playing with her jewelry. Neil was content to lay on the bed and watch all of the excitement. After talking with her I found out that she has not been out to eat the entire eight months of her stay there! So we (being me, since she is ninety something) loaded the kids back up and headed to Pea Soups. She was so happy to be out of the place and into the world again that she cried all the way to the restaurant. The tears went away once they brought her a cheeseburger and she was lively and chatty once again. After lunch we went back to her room and visited a little while longer. I was so glad we got to see her and can't wait to go back once we get moved in and show her pictures of the new house. Below are a few pictures from today.

Counting Down & Up
Well, we were supposed to close on our new house yesterday but due to lawyers and paperwork it got pushed back to Thursday. Hopefully this will be it! I am not a patient person and really don't handle things well when people don't hold up their end of the deal or miss deadlines. So I'm guessing this is supposed to be a lesson in patience for me.
On a lighter note, Camden is now counting verbally! She was in the bed with me this morning and counted to two on her fingers. Last night she was able to recognize several of her numbers in the bathtub. I am so proud of her, she is talking more and more and trying to form sentences! She is so sweet although not the biggest help when it comes to packing. She likes to remove all the items I place in boxes before I get them taped up. Neil is still a great baby and sleeps much better than she did at his age. Overall I can't complain about much except for being a "single parent" right now. Marvin is working day and night and we aren't seeing much of him. I'm praying that things will slow down soon.

New Home!

After spending the afternoon running back and forth from the bank to the law office, we are officially homeowners! So thankful Nana came to watch the kids while we took care of all of this. Banks and law offices definitely aren't the place for children, especially loud ones like ours. We can't wait to get in and start painting, however the sellers won't be out until the end of June.
