The Cat Came Back (not for those with a weak stomach)

Sheba is finally home! For those of you who don't know, a few days before Neil was born Sheba (our cat we have had since we first married) got attacked/skinned alive. Literally half of her skin was peeled off and had to be resown.  The problem was there wasn't adequate blood supply to the huge area and the skin kept dying and that's why she had to stay so long. She actually came home on Friday with a quarter size wound on her side and a huge sewn up place underneath. Once she was free to roam about our house again however she ripped the sewn place completely open, not something you want to have with a toddler running around the house.  So she went back and this time she got staples and stitches, poor thing looks like a barbed-wire fence. Surprisingly though she has been in great spirits and is back to her old self.  The only issues are our other cat Sandy, and Camden.  Camden thinks she can rough-house with Sheba like she does Sandy and I have to keep reminding her that Sheba has boo boo and we have to be gentle with her for a while.  Sandy apparently got used to being the only house pet and is very territorial right now, I'm sure in a few weeks they will be back to their usual selves though.  Below are pictures of her good side and her bad side. When you look at her from the right she looks completely normal, it's just the left side and her stomach that look so bad.

Great-grands

Last weekend we to visit Mama and my grandparents came over to meet Neil for the first time! It's hard to believe its been over 2 months since I have seen them. They got to watch Camden entertain them as well and Neil was very content in Gramps' arms and did not want to leave when they had to go. Here are a few pictures Mama took that day.

Our New Pool

After many hours of deliberation and talking with other pool owners we decided to break down and get Camden a pool. Well not actually the type of pool that comes to mind but nevertheless she loved it! We decided that the blow up type is just right for the next couple of years and after that we can look into a large above the ground pool or something else. I found out kids don't really care what kind of pool it is as long as it holds water, which is great for our budget!

Below are a few pictures from her first "pool" experience of 2010. Let the summer fun begin!

This water is cold!!!

God Speaks

I know God speaks to me, maybe not in an audible way, but nevertheless he still speaks to me.  This morning I heard an amazing statement from Phil Joel (formally of the band Newsboys).  He said "If God guides He will provide".  We are about to make a huge step into owning our on home and I still feel called to stay at home with the children. This was just what I needed to hear to calm my fears and wipe away any doubts or uncertainties I have been feeling this past week.

Neil's Dedication

For the second year in a row I have had the privelage of dedicating my baby on Mother's Day! What better way to spend Mother's Day, than in church with family and friends. We had a great time and went to Yianni's after for a wonderful lunch. Thanks a bunch to Aunt Stacy for remembering to bring her wonderful camera. Below are some pictures from the day.

This is my favorite picture from the day!

What a week!!

This has been one busy week! From rushing to get Neil's picture to the church (for his dedication on Sunday) to calling Realtors (yes, we are looking for a place of our own to live), bankers, insurance people, and on top of it all our desktop decided it would be a good time to die! Thankfully I have a wonderful brother-in-law (Allen) who came to get the computer and get it fixed for us. Maybe by next week I'll have it up and running so I can at least edit the pictures before posting them. The ones today may have a few with red eyes...

Backing it up to Monday, Marvin had to get a picture of Neil to the church so we could dedicate him this Sunday. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal since we obviously have taken tons of pictures of him, but being the bad mother that I am I haven't printed a single picture! I posted the one we used below.

My sweet little man!

Tuesday I ran in circles trying to get the house back in order from the weekend and didn't even come close. Neil and Camden decided to fuss most of the day and stagger their naps so I accomplished nothing.
Wednesday morning we had a play-date at Lindsey's house. Chloe and Camden are a year apart and after many attempts are finally able to play together with little or no drama. Ella is Lindsey's youngest and she is a bucket of smiles she is around 5 months. Roxanna and her little one joined us as well. Johannah and Neil pretty much slept the entire time. I forgot to bring my camera (imagine that), but I did manage to "steal" a few pictures off of Lindsey's blog from that day. ( Thanks Lindsey!)

Thursday was a bit of a blur...Marvin came in late Wednesday night and left early Thursday morning so by the time Sunday arrives I will be in need of a break and some sleep! I do know that my wonderful mother made a flying trip to Greenwood that afternoon to watch the kids while I went to Penny's to find something to wear to church on Sunday. I still have many many pounds to loose and although I am making progress (down almost 40lbs) I still have a ways to go before I can get back in my old clothes.

Friday morning we went to Amanda's house to play in Lola's sprinkler she got for her birthday last Saturday. She is 4 but so good with Camden. Lindsey, Chloe, and Ella met us there and the girls had a blast! This was Camden's first time in the water and in her swim suit this year and she had a great time! Thankfully this time I remembered to bring my camera.

Getting ready to go play in the water!

Saturday Stacy, Allen, and Lily came over after Haley's graduation from Delta State. Stacy took a picture of Neil so we will have a decent one for his announcement picture. Hopefully we will get those out soon.
