"Crazy Brain"

"Crazy brain" is the new term I have for my brain as of late. It's a combination of pregnancy brain and mommy brain mixed with a severe lack of sleep. Here are just a few examples of things you could do or say when experiencing "crazy brain". The list could be much longer and it would be if Marvin was standing over my shoulder right now, since he has seen it all first hand.

We went to meet with an accountant this week to do our taxes and for the most part Marvin did all of the talking (thank goodness). However when the accountant looked directly at me and asked me how old I was I told him 29! Then I said "Wait no I am 28" and Marvin quietly said "No, you are 27". How dumb can I be to get it wrong by two whole years!!!

Marvin has graciously taken over the weekly task of grocery shopping allowing me and Camden to stay at home. Last Sunday he bought groceries and as usual he always gets everything on the list, something I have rarely ever managed to do. He brings in all the bags and it's my responsibility to put them up. On Monday I decided to cook breakfast for Camden but when I went to get the eggs I couldn't find them. Camden isn't a patient customer when it comes to food so we settled for cereal and toast. Throughout the week I searched the kitchen and pantry over for the eggs and no luck. I almost convinced myself that it was somehow Marvin's mistake until I opened the freezer and voila, there they were!

A few Sundays ago we were getting ready for church and I was rushing around as usual trying to get myself and Camden ready and making sure Marvin had something not so wrinkled to wear. Finally we were all ready and headed out the door when Marvin looked at me and says are you going like that? I thought he was referring to the fact that I wasn't finished with my makeup and I quickly said "I'm going to put on the rest of it in the car on the way". He said "No, not your makeup, are you going to wear your houseshoes to church?" Sure enough I was dressed in my furry slippers along with my Sunday best!

I'm beginning to think I should avoid public places as much as possible until Neil arrives and Marvin may need to look into a more adequet form of supervision for Camden. Who knows what I will do next?!?

Sweet Baby

Slowly but surely we are getting our sweet baby back. She is trying her best to be a good trooper with all these teeth coming in. A couple of things I wanted to mention that I neglected to Sunday. Camden has now figured out how to turn the tv on and off and can eject a dvd and put a new one back in! Seems we are spending too much time inside and I can't wait for spring!!! I put her in this bright outfit yesterday hoping the weather would take a hint from her clothes. Another accomplishment that I never thought we would see before her second birthday is her willingness to go to sleep on her own. She fussed for the first couple of weeks during nap-time but now she is content to go to sleep whenever I put her in her crib. We read a book or two, then get her stuffed sheep, and I let her turn off the light then off to bed. Sometimes she does talk to herself or "sing" for a couple of minutes but then she is out like a light. This has taken a lot of pressure off of me for when the new baby arrives.

Bubble Bath

Our week was stressful to say the least. I took Camden to the doctor twice; she ended up just having a fever virus but happens to be cutting 6 teeth at one time! Wednesday I had a preschool committee meeting and Marvin ended up working late. Not wanting to miss the meeting I loaded up my cranky child and off to church we went, only to discover that no one else had showed up for the meeting:)

Thursday I had a doctor's appointment in Jackson and my babysitter called to say she was sick and couldn't keep Camden, so off we went. On the way to Jackson my doctor called and said she would be in surgery during my scheduled appointment and asked if we could change the time. Luckily I had planned on running some errands anyway and they were able to work me in right after lunch. I am also fourtunate to have a doctor that would call me personally because she knows I have a 2 hour drive! How many doctors today would do that, we really love Dr. Cole! Camden was a wonderful trooper through the shopping and even in the waiting room. The only time she even whimpered was on the way home when she woke up unexpectedly from her nap and wouldn't go back to sleep.

Friday was pretty much normal and we actually got to take Camden out for a little bit to play in the beautiful weather. And I think we all went to bed at 8:00 that night:)

Saturday morning Marvin left early to work on combines for his brother-in-law and Camden got me up around 6:30. I tried to "deep clean" the house while he was gone, however cleaning 20 windows and 2 bathrooms with a baby on my hip and one in my stomach pretty much wore me slap out! Camden has not been herself and I hope these teeth come in soon. Marvin came home around lunch and after we ate we all went outside for the afternoon. Camden and I played in the yard while Marvin worked on trying to organize the storage shed. Camden didn't run any fever at all but she was clearly still in pain with her teeth.

Today was my day to work the desk at church through Sunday school and morning worship. We tried to go out for a bite of Mexican food, however Camden hasn't had much of an appetite and she wasn't a happy camper.

As I am writing this my wonderful husband is getting out of church in the pouring rain and headed to do our weekly grocery shopping at Wal-Mart! I am really blessed to have a husband willing to pitch in and help out. He has been sooo helpful since the day Camden was born, I honestly don't think I could make it without him. The highlight of Camden's day (and probably her week) was the bubble bath she took tonight (see pics below), I really hope she starts to feel like herself soon. I am used to having an independant child and having one glued to my hip is wearing me down fast. We still have a ton to be thankful for and tomorrow is a new week!! Praying that it will be better:)

For some reason she likes to eat the bubbles!

and drink them...

and lick them.

Valentine's Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend. On Friday night I got to go to Grenada and keep Lily while Stacy and Allen went out to eat. She was fun to play with and loves books more than you would think any 5 month old could. On my way home I saw 19 deer! Thankfully none of them decided to play chicken with me.

Saturday morning Mama, Stacy, and Lily came over to spend the day and Mama made curtains for Camden's new room. Or at least she attempted to get them started, turns out its a little difficult to concentrate on sewing when there are little one's all around you:) Mama (aka Nana) brought Camden a balloon and some teddy bears which she adores! She was so excited about the balloon and I got it on video but neglected to get any pictures. Then Aunt Stacy brought her a precious Valentine book and the cutest summer dresses. We tried them on her over her clothes and made such a fuss about them on her that she didn't want to take them off. A little while later Camden got her first real head bump that day and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. She fell and hit the corner of a chair leg just right and a huge goose egg popped out of her forehead! After tears (mainly mine) and ice the swelling went down but there is still a huge bruise on her head. I know this was only the first of many but it still hurt me to see her in pain.

Later on that evening Marvin, Camden, Stacy, Allen, Lily & I decided to go to Yianni's for supper. The food was great but after a while Camden got fussy and probably disturbed the other couple's "romantic" meal so we came home and went to sleep.

This morning when we woke up the bump was completly down but still a nasty bruise. Marvin and I got her a huge teddy bear for Valentine's Day and she enjoys laying on it and trying to sit in it's lap. Marvin got me a card from Camden and even let her "sign" it. Then after breakfast we were off to church.

My grandfather's birthday is tomorrow so we left church and headed to Grenada to meet my grandparents and family for lunch. Got home shortly after 2:00 and I gave Marvin a hair cut while Camden took a nap. Poor guy, he has needed one for so long he was starting to look like Mr. Kotter. And that was how we spent our Valentine's weekend:)

First Snow & Random Pics

Last Thursday morning we woke up to a light snow and I was sooo excited and couldn't wait to let Camden play in it! So before breakfast we hurridly dressed and went outside. The dogs were excited and happy, however Camden was not. She was reaching for the snow so Marvin put some in her hand and she had a fit. Did not like the cold wet stuff at all. So here are the only pictures we took that morning.

She is trying to tell me to get it off her hand.

At least Jake and Little Girl had fun!

The other day I took some pictures of Camden playing in her room. She loves looking out the window at the dogs, and I will be so glad when it warms up enough for us to play outside.

Showing me her belly button:)

Playing with her toys.

Trying to get the camera.

One half-way warm day in January when we actually got to playoutside for a little while.
Picking up leaves.

He Provides

Matthew 6:25 -34

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

God lets me know everyday that all of my worrying is futile and time and time again He shows me He is in control and will provide our needs. I've been working on our budget these past few months trying to adjust it to fit the spike in the cost of my health insurance. Without going into too many boring details I'll just give a quick summary...
We knew my insurance would go up drastically for the first 1/2 of this year, until I get off of Cobra and onto Blue Cross Blue Shield. However the spike was a lot more than we anticipated and no matter how we worked with the numbers we were not able to get it to work out. This created an almost $500 a month deficit. Somehow in January we were able to manage and only had to borrow a small amount from savings.
Today I called the Cobra representative and asked for some payment stubs so I would know the exact amount to pay each month. When she pulled up my account she said there had been some changes in the law and we were actually paid up until June!!! GOD is good and he provides!!!!
Just wanted to share....

Dr. Visit

Thursday I had a prenatal appointment in Jackson and thankfully Mama was able to take off work and go with me to help entertain Camden on the way and during the appointment. It went great even though it rained on us all day:) We got to see Neil but he was being difficult and would not smile for the camera/ultrasound machine. We did come back with a few print-outs but there is really no way to tell what your looking at so I didn't scan them. The important thing is that everything checked out great and I had a stress free trip!
Today Marvin had to work on combines so Camden and I headed for the hills this morning. We got to spend the day with Aunt Stacy and Lily, and Nana and P-Paw. Nana's dog had puppies 10 days ago and Camden got to play with them. It was sooo sweet to see her being so gentle with the puppies.
