Outdoor Summer Fun

I am so thankful to have a fenced-in, kid and pet friendly yard!  It's where we spend the majority of our time.

Sheba likes to get into things she is too big for.

I tried out this new thing on photo shop that allows you to fade out the colors.  It looked great on the picture above and I demonstrated the difference in the pictures below.  It kinda gives the photo an antique look.

Things That Made Me Happy In May :)

I have had a few extra helpings of stress on my plate lately and I saw a Facebook comment the other day that really made me stop and put things in perspective.  It said "to find out how rich you are add up all the things in your life that can't have a price put on them".  So I started thinking about the things in my life that make me truly happy and here are a few... planning our first family vacation to the beach with both of our kids, getting to clean my house all week so weekends can be focused on time with family rather than chores, being free to go when a friend calls last minute, and getting to watch my two precious angels grow and learn everyday!
This week is Vacation Bible School at our church and I was really looking forward to working it this year! However Camden came down with a virus and then passed it to Neil. Thankfully she got over it and was able to go on the 3rd day!  I have been keeping Neil at home praying he will be well on Sunday so our whole family can be in the congregation to watch her perform with all the other children. Nothing blesses my heart more than to have my child excited about going to church and learning about God. I am so blessed to be a part of our church and I know that we are in the right place that will reinforce the scriptures, and Christian values and principles taught at home.
Below are a some shots from the month that has flown by!

Neil's new habit is putting his food on his head...

My sweet little girl.

Flowers in my yard that I didn't plant :)

There is just something cute about a baby boy in a diaper...

Just got through relaxing in her little chair, now time for more water fun!

Mrs. Pinion called me last Friday and said she could really use some company, so off we went!

Marvin setting up the pool for the first time a few Sunday's ago.
I am extremely blessed to have the most patient husband and wonderful father to our kids!
I would not want to go through this life with any other person in the world.

Easter 2011

Quick visit from the Easter Bunny, Sunday school and church, then off to Grenada for lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. Busy day but so fun for the kids.  Neil wasn't that into Easter egg hunting but it was right around his nap time and he doesn't enjoy being outside nearly as much as Camden right now. We followed the Sheffield tradition of the Easter bunny leaving the kids goodies outside the doors of their rooms.  I felt bad that we didn't get them any candy until after the hunt but we came home with enough candy to last a year!

Pre-Easter Egg Decorating

This was Camden's first year to dye Easter eggs and it was so much fun!  She had a blast and after they dried she and Neil ate one each!  (Notice we are still in our pajamas just incase it got messy.)

She was so gentle and never even cracked one!

This is a photo of what the kids godmother sent them for Easter and for Neil's birthday.
She hand stitched and then framed the duck in the back and sent him a silver spoon
to add to his collection. She sent them each a furry Easter basket with lots of eggs
and even sent me some really cute Easter kitchen towels!  We are so blessed to have
Alice Virginia as a part of our life, I just wish she lived closer so we could see her more!

Gramps

On Friday, April 22, 2011 my grandfather went home to Jesus.  He is also with my father and my other grandparents.   I know they had a wonderful reunion and we will once again be together never to be seperated again.  Our family has experienced a lot of death and it is comforting to know this is not the end and that our family will once again be reunited.

At the dress rehearsal for my wedding.

Gramps and Granny

Two verses and a song have been in my heart a lot lately.
When I was younger I listened to Audio Adrenaline and they have an awesome song that I think of at times of losing a loved one.  I want this song sung at my funeral.....below is a link.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

1 Corinthians 15:50-57

50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[a]

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting?”[b]

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
