Easter 2010

Well I guess it's better late than never :) Camden had a great Easter! We got up Sunday morning and went to church, and when we got back she got to see what the Easter Bunny left. We would have done it first but we all slept in too late:) Then we loaded up and headed to Grenada to have Easter lunch at Billie and Samy's house then an egg hunt in their yard. I wasn't sure how Camden would do since we failed to get in at least one dry run but she was a pro! She filled up her basket several times over and continued to hunt long after all the other children got bored and went inside. She was soo cute in her Easter dress and bunny ears. Here are several pictures from that day. For more pics from that day visit this site: http://camdensheffield.shutterfly.com/

Gonna try to upload pics of Neil and Camden tomorrow...gotta keep my mind busy since Camden went to stay with Nana for a few days. I can't pick her up for the rest of this week so Nana graciously offered to take her home and Aunt Billie and Bobbie are going to keep her during the day. I know she is in good hands but I still can't help but feeling lonley without her in the house. I miss her terribly when she isn't here. I know this is for the best and will give me time to rest and recover and get to spend some one-on-one time with Neil (who by the way is the best baby in the world!)

Hey Mama! I think this one is a real egg:)

My precious baby's first egg hunt.

Happy Easter!!!

Her Favorite Things

I feel like it's been ages since I've written anything...although it's only been a few weeks.
Camden and I have been spending the majority of our day outside (when possible) and for the most part I neglect to bring my camera. Keeping up with her seems to almost be more than I can handle at my current state. She loves, loves, loves being outside and everytime we come in she is usually kicking and screaming (thankfully we live out of town).
She really enjoys our dogs Jake and Little Girl, however Jake is her current favorite. He will let her sit on his back, lay on him, pull at his ears and shove stuff in his mouth. Little Girl doesn't have quite that much paitence with her yet.
She loves playing in the dirt and will play on the dirt pile in our yard for hours at a time. She is such a joy to be around and suprises me with something new everyday. She is able to recognize about 5 of her letters and her new favorite thing to do is practice her numbers. She is able to show us 1 and 5 with her fingers and loves pointing to different things while I count them outloud. Her speech has really taken off and she says about 2 or 3 new words every day! This is making communication much better and she is grunting and pointing less.
Pregnancy-wise we are on the final countdown and come Monday, April 5th we should have a new member of the family. I am beyond ready!! I know Camden will have an adjustment period but she is such a caring child that I know she will be a great big-sister to Neil. Here are the only recent pictures I have of her...

Happy Birthday Nana!

Saturday night we had a suprise birthday for Mama at the Country Inn's and Suites. She was really suprised and everything went great! Stacy did an awesome job getting everything and everyone together without Mama finding out. Here are the few pictures I was able to take from that night. Suprise!!

"Crazy Brain"

"Crazy brain" is the new term I have for my brain as of late. It's a combination of pregnancy brain and mommy brain mixed with a severe lack of sleep. Here are just a few examples of things you could do or say when experiencing "crazy brain". The list could be much longer and it would be if Marvin was standing over my shoulder right now, since he has seen it all first hand.

We went to meet with an accountant this week to do our taxes and for the most part Marvin did all of the talking (thank goodness). However when the accountant looked directly at me and asked me how old I was I told him 29! Then I said "Wait no I am 28" and Marvin quietly said "No, you are 27". How dumb can I be to get it wrong by two whole years!!!

Marvin has graciously taken over the weekly task of grocery shopping allowing me and Camden to stay at home. Last Sunday he bought groceries and as usual he always gets everything on the list, something I have rarely ever managed to do. He brings in all the bags and it's my responsibility to put them up. On Monday I decided to cook breakfast for Camden but when I went to get the eggs I couldn't find them. Camden isn't a patient customer when it comes to food so we settled for cereal and toast. Throughout the week I searched the kitchen and pantry over for the eggs and no luck. I almost convinced myself that it was somehow Marvin's mistake until I opened the freezer and voila, there they were!

A few Sundays ago we were getting ready for church and I was rushing around as usual trying to get myself and Camden ready and making sure Marvin had something not so wrinkled to wear. Finally we were all ready and headed out the door when Marvin looked at me and says are you going like that? I thought he was referring to the fact that I wasn't finished with my makeup and I quickly said "I'm going to put on the rest of it in the car on the way". He said "No, not your makeup, are you going to wear your houseshoes to church?" Sure enough I was dressed in my furry slippers along with my Sunday best!

I'm beginning to think I should avoid public places as much as possible until Neil arrives and Marvin may need to look into a more adequet form of supervision for Camden. Who knows what I will do next?!?
